A new music destination offering exclusive audio and video tracks donated by some of the world’s biggest recording artists

TORONTO, April 26th – Music Media Network along with the David Lynch Foundation proudly announce the launch of the David Lynch Foundation Music Label (DLF MUSIC) . The David Lynch Foundation was launched six years ago to bring the stress-reducing, health-promoting benefits of Transcendental Meditation to underserved populations, including at-risk inner city youth and veterans returning home from combat with post traumatic stress disorder, as well as Native American Indians, the homeless and prisoners. To date, DLF has provided scholarships for nearly 150,000 adults and students to learn to meditate, eliminating the traumatic stress that undermines academic achievement and fuels substance abuse and violent behavior. The David Lynch Foundation Music label has been launched as the next phase, in partnership with direct-to-fan online music distributor PledgeMusic to raise funds through the “Download for Good” campaign, a compilation containing (17) exclusive tracks donated by some of the world's top artists including – Iggy Pop,Moby, Maroon 5, Peter Gabriel, Dave Stewart, Neon Trees, Arrested Development etc.... All proceeds will go directly to support the work and global outreach of the David Lynch Foundation (DLF) organization. To date, the campaign, which exceeded its original goal in a matter of weeks, will run for an additional 30 days through May 2011, with the potential for a further extension should the tracks continue to sell well.
“The artists who share their music will spread much happiness with their music alone and, at the same time, support programs that take away suffering and bring bliss to lots of people,” said David Lynch, founder of the David Lynch Foundation. “When you download these tracks, you’ll not only get to enjoy some great music, but you’ll also know you are going to bring happiness to someone somewhere in the world.”

Future releases will launch the next new phase, Donovan, Peter & Gordon, Phil Soussan & Jakob Dylan w. Daryl Hannah have all contributed new tracks. These musicians join artists such as Arrested Development, Ben Folds, Peter Gabriel, Moby, Maroon 5, Neon Tree's, Ozomatli, Iggy Pop andTom Waits who have already donated original tracks and are now contributing additional items to the cause, including tickets to shows and signed and unique collector’s items and apparel for the extension, including:

About PledgeMusic PledgeMusic was founded by musician Benji Rogers to give artists a DIY option for pursuing and augmenting their careers.
